Murphy Woodcraft is a 1-man woodshop in the heart of Tacoma, WA. I have been honing my woodworking skill and knowledge ever since I built my first Adirondack chair out of pallet wood in my senior year of college, (2018). This was my first attempt at woodworking since 8th grade shop class.

I wanted a nice lawn chair and couldn’t afford a nice one, so my roommate Dallan lent me some tools, curious to see if I could make one from scratch. It was horrible. It sat pretty much all the way to the ground, the arms were set at shoulder-height so it was entirely uncomfortable, and I didn’t sand it at all… splinters were a real possibility with each sit-session. Just like that I was hooked on getting better. Flash forward to today and I have been running my own custom-order business since March of 2023.

My logo is based on many parts of my past, intentionally designed to represent me. The navy blue house represents Olympia High School where my father and all three of my siblings went, and where I grew up. The vegas-gold lettering represents Pacific Lutheran where I went to college and played football, and where the passion was set ablaze. The green and the shamrock represent the Irish heritage of my last name, Murphy.

I am eager to take your ideas and turn them into a real wood masterpiece. Check out the testimonials and see who chose to trust me with their project ideas. Take a page from their book and contact me via phone number, email, Facebook, or Instagram messenger. Let’s get to work!
